Like Minded Folk Acts to Complete Line Up

Hi there,
I have recently been talking to a band called 'Meet Me At The Masquerade' who are fantastic Folk Band from Medway.  I, myself, am part of a Folky Band called 'River Guns' from Sittingbourne.  We are basically planning to do local 'Gig Swapping' and we aim to add another band to a line up that we can take to venues and provide a full night of music.

If you/your band are local to us and you fancy meeting and making a group of friends and, therefore, contacts please drop me some mail at danielangove@gmail.com

Thank you,
Daniel

I'm lucky enough to be playing with one of the best "Rock/Folk", (as opposed to "Folk/Rock"), bands on the planet!
Name? "Fable Of The Bees"!
The Line-up is strong: Paul James from "Blowzabella", (Vocals, Saxophone, Bombarde, Whistle);
Steve Crickett from the "Phil Beer Band" (Drums & Percussion);
Andrew McMahon from 1000 Mexicans, (Bass Guitar & Vocals);
The amazing Paul Woloschuk on Keyboards & Piano Accordion;
& Tim Constable on Electric & Acoustic Guitars!
We have a dilemna! We need to gig in Kent, but need to do so in conjunction with an established Kent Artiste! (On equal terms!)
Following our success at Newburys "Ace Space" with the Des Simmonds Band & Headlining at the "Wimborne Fringe Folk Festival" at the White Hart in Dorset, we are looking for a decent "showcase" for the band in Kent!
New website is: www.fableofthebees.eu

If you can put any ideas forward re the above, I'd be very pleased to hear from you!

My name's Tim and you can contact me on: this email address or on 07932 994257 or 07957 684670 or on 01634 577658!

I am a Director of The Community Brain and we are working in Ashford on a project named Revealing Ashford which involves a number of different artists and organisations creating surprising, engaging, innovative projects throughout the town and surrounding villages from June - October.

The Community Brain is creating a real pop-up venue that will appear at various events throughout Ashford in the summer and will also be in residence at various businesses.  The pop-up venue is a programmable space that can house acoustic music acts, stand up comedy, theatrical displays workshops, visual art displays etc - it's aim is to be a very flexible space, easy to erect quickly, and eventually it will be owned by the Ashford community so that anyone putting on a small event has access to this portable venue.

The venue will also be decorated by the community as it moves from place to place based on the theme of the dreams of the people of Ashford and how they would like to see the arts grow and develop.

We are bringing the venue to the following events in June and July:

12 June - Teddy Bears Picnic (Willesborough Windmill)
03 July - Tentertainment (Tenterden Rec)
09 July - Picnic in the Garden (Egerton Music Festival)
30 July - Ashford Is (old Stour Centre entrance)

We are currently looking for local performers who may wish to perform in the space during any of these events.  The venue is here to help bring out the artistic talents throughout Ashford!

The pop up venue can only realistically fit 2-3 people inside it, but there is no reason why outside of the venue cannot also be utilised for larger dance/choir groups etc.

If you are interested in performing then please do not hesitate to get in contact with me by email or on 07900520781

In addition to programming the space, we with to help the community realise that this will be their space to own and use and so anyone interested in the helping of the programming and management would be more than welcome to work alongside us.

More information about The Community Brains work can be found at www.thecommunitybrain.org and www.seethingwells.org

I look forwards to hearing from you!

SUPPORT BAND / ACT REQUIRED

So it turns out that most venue expect 1hr 30mins to 2 hours material, which when you doing your own stuff can be a bit much.
We are a guitar band looking for support acts / bands to do about 30mins before
us. Some gigs will be paying(mainly just minimal expenses) some will not!
Great gig experience for any bands out there. Will probably be starting in the Maidstone area then maybe branching out further. Applicants will need to be ready within a few months. Anything considered but would like to hear, or see something in advance.
Please E mail David if you are interested

Would be happy to Consider Solo artists, variety acts or anything vaguely entertaining, All comers welcome!!
