Most browers use a page cache to store the contents of a web page
so that if you re-visit the page at a later date the browser may
not have to download all the pages from the network, it may find
a previously stored version of the page on the hard disk of your
machine and show you that instead. This improves performance and
is fine for sites which change little with time, if however you
visit a site such as this which is regularly updated then you may
be seeing older copies of the pages.
Clearing your cache forces your browser to re-download a site from
scratch..
How to clear your cache on:

2. Select "Network Preferences" and click on it once.

button, this provides a very convenient method of forcing the
browser to load the page from the network, however it only applies
to the currently displayed page and therefore it is necessary
to apply to each page of interest.
