Welcome to the Kent Musician's Resource Page providing musicians with a convenient method of contacting other musicians.
The site attempts to cater for all musical tastes and styles.

• Please try to keep entries to a reasonable length. No pictures or sound files please.

• Remember to include contact details so people can get in touch with you, email, tel number or address.

• Fellow musicians responding to your entry are also strangers so use common sense if you arrange to meet.
   
• Posting your email address or phone number on the web makes it accessible to anyone. Many internet providers supply 5 or more e-mail accounts in their standard package, some people prefer to use one e-mail account for close friends or business and one for public use, then if you then receive unwanted mail you can shut down the "public" identity whilst preserving the others. Genderless e-mail names reveal less about you so kathy@someprovider.com could be replaced by ky123@someprovider.com.

• Clean language please. Entries containing negative comments against any individual(s) or organisation will not be accepted.

• Entries are assigned an expiry date ( usually 3 months from publication date ). Once an entry has expired it will generally be left on the site another 3 months and then deleted. You can "renew your" entry during this period by sending an email with sufficient details to identify the entry. Entries from teachers, retailers, regular workshops and studios etc. are not subject to this time limit and entries under "Acts Available" have a time limit of 1 year.

• Finally, this site relies totally on you for its "advertising" - the success rate of the site is totally dependent on the number of musicians who know about it. If you want to help us please take a look at the section "U Can Help".

FAQ

• Do I have to pay ? No this is a voluntary, non-profit making service, run by musicians for musicians, even ads for commercial organisations are free although we ask for reciprocal publicity.
• Promotion of gigs and venues is not free, this is handled by our sponsors Kent & E Sussex Gig Guide, make sure your venues contact them.

• How long will it take for my entry to appear ? Under normal circumstances under a week. except during holidays.

• How long have these pages been in existence? Since Nov 2000. In other Counties Nov 1999.

• How can I support this service ? Simple, tell  other musicians, music teachers and music shops about this site and post links from your own website ( see section "U Can Help" )  PUBLICITY please !

• Who is kentmus? The name for the e-mail account is derived from the name of this site. My name is Chris Ashman, I live in Kent and have long experience of the music biz as a performer, Recording studio owner, Sound Engineering, Producer, Record Production, Publishing, Music Mangement and Promotion. I am also the originator of the gig guides you have seen in your newspapers, TV and other media since 1981.

• How do I send an entry ? Return to the front page of the site and select the button "Send Entry" which will take you to an online form to fill out. Please take care to follow the instructions. Please don't try and send one general entry to suit a number of different purposes - eg advertise your band and your services as a teacher, entries like this generally have to be hand edited at this end before they are suitable for posting. A single entry can appear under more than one section if the entry text is clearly suitable and specific to all the nominated categories without further editing, otherwise please submit different entries for different purposes.
