Trumpet Player wanted
Trumpet player wanted to complete the brass section in one of Kents top soul/funk/blues cover bands, due to iminent departure of our current trumpet player. We are a 7 peice outfit and gig regularly around Kent. Must be able to play to a good standard, band aged from late 20's to early 50's, renowned for having an extremely tight sound! Drummer required for very busy blues rock band
We're a blues/rock outfit. Male and Female Lead vocals, slide guitar, sax, bass and drums (but still just a 4 piece). We've been going about 9 months, and in that time, we've lost 3 drummers!! (No we're not spinal tap...we've just had a string of drummers who have not wanted to take the band any further than the occasional local gig).
2 of us are full time pro (teaching and gigging) and the third would like to be if the band takes off!!
We've done some great gigs recently, supporting Tommy Castro (if you don't know who he is and you like blues, google him, you'll love him!) and Charlotte Street Blues Club. We're looking to build up a following over the next 12 months doing local gigs with the occasional bigger gig, and hit the festivals, etc next year. We have Pete Feenstra (top South East Blues Promoter behind us and waiting to book us gigs as well).
We're itching to get going, and have a winning formula...we just need that 4th person....

Drummer needed for local Metal heavyweights
We are a five piece metal band from the Kent and South East London area looking for a dedicated, capable and creative metal drummer to replace our original. Own transport is preferred but not necessary, but own equipment is a must.

We draw influence from bands such as the Haunted, At The Gates, Lamb of God, Whitechapel and other such acts. Drummer required for original band
We are a 4-piece original act, based in the Canterbury area. Our material is a mix of electronic trancey beats and prog rock, with elements of funk, jazz and folk thrown in for good measure. We have a CD out, and are gigging regularly around East Kent. It's time to liven up our sound with a real drummer, having relied on computerised sequences for some time now. We are all 30+ with day jobs, but intent on giving this our best shot - this is not a 'beer and a larf down the pub' band, but a creative project with big plans.
You should be a technically proficient drummer, happy working with click tracks etc. but with plenty of creative flair and rhythmic innovation (i.e. occasional time signatures outside 4:4). Massive kits and hard hitters not particularly desirable - good listeners with a sensitive, jazzy feel far more so. Commitment to weeknight evening rehearsals near Sandwich, and setting the world alight with some proper new music, essential.

We are an Original Indie Rock Band looking for a drummer. We play fast,Dynamic well written songs, a tad different but definately original. The Jones Boys needs a new member. Currently our set comprises traditional songs and tunes from Ireland, England, Scotland, Shetland, but we are also seeking to expand into other European traditions, and also early music.
We are continuing as a duo for the time being, until we find the right person. That person must be able to:

We're a dover/ashford/canterbury based band play rock/pop/punk/indie covers looking for a competant lead guitarist to join us as our current one is leaving to concentrate on his other band.

Guitarist and Vocalist wanted
We are a late 40's Rhythm section and keys/guitar looking for local musicians to complete the band. In terms of line up, the current thinking is Drums, Bass, Hammond/Keys, Guitar and Vocals, but open to suggestions
We want to play with good people reasonably regularly (weekday evening rehearsals locally) and want to do about 12 to 15 gigs every year.
Funky, bluesy rocky stuff. we are thinking modern blues (SRV, Joe Bonamassa), funk (The Meters, James Taylor Quartet, in terms of feel). Staying away from 'the brown list', and possibly including a few originals.

Rhythm & Blues Band need a versatile and experienced drummer to complete a progressive and enthusiastic five piece band with gigs booked through the year. We are based in Lympne near Hythe Kent. Singers / Keyboard player required for Acapella / Doo Wop group....
First off, I'm a drummer who's bored with lugging my gear everywhere for a paltry return. I have decided I'd like to form an acapella outfit of singers covering some punk songs via The Beatles,Frank Zappa (Check out the link) and anything else you think would sound amusing in this style. This is going to be a fun project, but musically bang on - it would be nice to be paid for our efforts!
I'm not a trained singer, so would probably sing the bassier parts and provide oral rhythm. But enthusiastic I am and I understand how humour works in music. Do you? Think 4 poofs and a piano and you're along the right lines. Which leads us to the keyboard player - if you play keyboard and sing a bit, I'd like to hear from you.

Drummer Wanted - Counterfeit Notes
East Kent based band seek drummer to complete our 7 piece line up. Covering songs from the 60's to today's hits. Aimed mainly at the function market but also playing corporate events as well as a number of larger pubs.
We play around 70 times a year mainly in Kent but we will play out of the county on the odd occasion. You should have good gear, transport, and a sense of humour, age is not important as we are after someone who will be able to pick up the songs quickly and will be able to rehearse at a studio near Hythe.
What we would like from you?
1. Good gear.
2. Willing to rehearse in a studio Near Hythe.
3. Own transport.
4. Possibly own drum mic's.
5. Willing to pick up the set quickly.
6. Willing to play quietly where sound limiters are installed working with the management of the venue.
7. Bring a steady beat to the backline willing to drive the rhythm section.
8. Soul band, no other band commitments.
What we can offer.
1. up to 70+ gigs a year.
2. Mostly weddings and Corporate gigs.
3. Cd's of the original songs and Cd's of us playing them live.
4. A function band who have been playing for over 17yrs.
5. Playing at such venues as War and Peace, the Swiss tower London, Gillingham football club, Leeds Castle, Major Hotels throughout Kent.
6. A 5kw Mackie P.A. with 4x 450 mackie monitors
7. Dedicated sound guy at most gigs.
8. Monitoring.
9. A new CD to record in 2010.
10. Band recordings with our 16 channel recording desk for practice/live CD.
We are not the best function band in Kent and we are not professionals, but we try and give a professional appearance and out look to how were appear and play. We enjoy playing at any venue be it the local pub or the Swiss Tower London.
We need someone who will be able to come into the band and fit in with our rhythm section driving it along and keeping a constant tempo throughout the night, being able to work sometimes in difficult situations where a sound limiter is fitted. We try and aviod sound limiters but on the odd occasion they appear.

Power Metal band seeks Drummer
We are Lunar Prophecy a new Symphonic Power Metal band that was born late 2008. Our music is laced with heavy guitars, soaring catchy melodies as well as the sound of a powerful orchestra. We nearly have a complete line-up, all we need is the drummer!

Tasteful vocalist required for talented bluesy, rocky, funky band in the Tunbridge Wells area.
We are looking for a talented and soulful singer to join a band of fine musicians in the Tunbridge Wells area. Singer/Frontman needed for SKA band (Kent)
Well established SKA band require an awesome singer / frontman for the band.
We cover all the old classic hits from Madness, The Specials, Bad Manners, Selecter etc.as well as older Trojan type tunes.
You would be expected to be a bit of a fan of this type of music, be confident, good with a crowd and know the songs well...as well as look the part (we all get into tonic suits, pork pie hats, loafers etc..)
We would like to gig 3 or 4 times a month if possible and are based around the Tonbridge, Kent area.

Guitarist/Pianist/Singer Looking For A Band
Hi, my names Michael Valentine, I'm 20, 21 in june, I've been playing guitar between 5-6 years now and been messing around on the piano for just over a year as well, but I can definetily say that I am a quick learner with it. I've got live experience and have been with gigging bands for up to about 3 years, but now I'm looking start my own band.
I'm looking to form my own band that has a range of different genre covers and I also have some of my own material started as well that I would like to get started, I'm based in Maidstone, and would like to mainly have a drummer, bass player, and a guitarist that is equaly good using an acoustic as well as an electric guitar.
If any musicians can play more then one instrument or who can aslo sing, this would be greatly appreciated when it comes to writing our own stuff or even playing live.
I would like to keep it close to my age range if possible as well.
(Now I know I'm going on a bit but I feel it's better if you know as much as you can when it comes to things like this).
Any way the last thing I'm going to talk about is the genre of music that I'd like to play:
the 3 top main influences should be Bands Like Muse, Coldplay and Radiohead, but a lot of the acoustic stuff, will be artists like Drake Bell, Tim Daniel - sort of Pop/Rock with ourselves put into it.

We are a band from Gillingham in the Medway ends and have been practicing for a few months, progress has been surprisingly quick and currently writing and practicing songs as well as a few covers for upcoming gigs. Peers have praised us for our energy and creativity.

Rehearsal Studio Coming
We are looking to start a new rehearsal studio for artists and bands to practice at!
We are aiming to finish the building by June 2010 or earlier, and be ready to rent out to anyone interested. However if you are desperate we could fit you in sooner!
So far we have had several bands interested, but are still interested in doing our research further. To start with, this project will not be as high profile as perhaps some of the studios you may be used to, as we are rather more small scale. Sha Na Na type Rock n Roll dance band.....musicans, singers, nutters required...
I'm putting together a Sha Na Na type rock n roll dance band and need lots of members! If you saw Sha na na's performance of At The Hop at Woodstock (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDxaLLwyr6I), you'll know what I'm looking for. This would be a high energy, vocal driven band with harmonies and the mad dancing, too!
We would hopefully be playing festivals and larger venues as there will be at least 12 members of this outfit. Age, size and gender unimportant - but a genuine love of the music and sense of fun IS!
We'll be performing rock n roll classics at twice the normal speed, so anyone with a sound knowledge of that genre would be welcome. So far, there are just two of us but we need - lead vocals, drums, guitar, keyboard, bass and a few harmony / backing vocalists. If you can dance a choreographed dance, even better!

Popular, well established 7-piece SKA 2-tone band needs a singer / frontman.
Ideally you should be into the whole scene and know all the popular hits from Madness, Specials, Bad Manners and older trojan tracks etc.

Laid-back drummer needed..must have brushes!
Hi.. I'm putting together a small combo to back a female singer on the main stage at the Americana International Festival in Newark - July. All players are in place, except a drummer. The material is Americana/Country/Roots using acoustic instruments played "with attitude" and we are centered around NW Kent. Age/gender is not an issue, but ability and taste are.
If this interests you, and you feel your style fits the bill, please get in touch. It is possible that other gigs will follow (or may even precede) the Americana..but that's our main focus right now. Any Old Timey Musicians out there?
Looking for anyone interested in getting together for old time American music.(Along the lines of Ralph Stanley-Bluegrass-hillbilly-Lourvin Brothers-Hank Willaims....."Oh Brother where art thou" type stuff ) I play acoustic guitar, mandolin and National resonator and can sing a bit and do harmonies. Laptop and/or synth musician with BVs (preferably female) wanted
We are after someone to add synth sounds and effects to a heavy rock/metal sound, we don't necessarily need the worlds greatest keyboard player but we would like backing vocals. We are also in the process of adding a horn section to the band - yes, I know that sounds odd for a heavy band but it is different! The band is predominantly female so a techie girl with a decent synth and/or a laptop with virtual instruments would be ideal but guys will also be considered. Some of the band are in Maidstone, some are in Southend, any rehearsals will be somewhere halfway e.g. Erith.
Now here's the tempting bit . . . we already have a distribution deal in America based on the demos recorded so far. We also have recording lined up in a private studio in Kent. The producer has had many top ten hits and many number ones and is featured in the Guinness Book of Hit Records.
We have gigged a couple of times as a 4 piece to try out the material but the focus is on recording the album, releasing it and then getting festival bookings. If this interests you, please get in touch.

Guitarist & Drummer Wanted ASAP

Our band are searching for a drummer, and a new guitarist (Lead and Rhythm) we have been going a few years, have done alot of gigs, have made various recordings, gig frequently. Have played festivals and have played small/large venues, have supported small and large bands such as Stiff Little Fingers. We have also gained popularity from being played live on BBC Radio Kent, from performing at Dock Rock Festival 2009, and have also been shown support from people like, Nick "Topper" Headon from The Clash. We are a rock/punk band, influences, Rancid, Stiff Little Fingers, The Clash, Foo Fighters, we have alot of original material and do play covers from various artists. We are between the ages of 18-22, looking for a drummer between ages of 18-25 really. Male or Female. A Driver would be fantasticly helpful. Backing Vocals could come in useful too. Looking for someone who is fully committed to rehearsing and gigging as much as possible, as we do plan on touring again.
Drummer wise, must have own kit, looking for someone to learn all the songs we do, originals and a few covers, and then take the originals and add their own flair to them. We have a strong military feel in a few of the original songs, we are looking for someone who could continue that feel to it.
Guitar wise, must have own amp, looking for someone who can play very strong rhythm, good lead guitar skills too would be good. The guitaring isn't necesarrily difficult, however very precise playing.

Rockabilly Drummer wanted
Dedicated rockabilly/50's rock n roll Drummer wanted to join and form a trio. We are upright bass and lead/rhythm guitar. As a drummer we don't want or need people who don't know the music (sorry but it takes to long to explain) so you are happy to play snare, hi hat, bass drum, brushes and work your nuts off.
We dont care if you play sitting down or standing up, as long as you can play.

Hammond/keys player wanted for 'old time' ska/reggae band
Long running band looking for a new keyboard player. Kent/London/Essex area, rehearsals generally near Bluewater.
Style of music strictly 60's ska, rocksteady and reggae....if you love your Trojan, Pama, Studio One or Bluebeat and play organ/piano,we should talk!
Our style is authentic, but songs are mostly our own. Have had five albums released over 20 years, and played all over Europe.
Also get to play big festivals, and have often worked with our heroes...lucky sods!
Loving the music is a good start, but not essential...if you are interested and play hammond/keys, and are willing to learn a new style, give us a call. However, you must be prepared to play in the the style of the originators....
We aren't a money band, so no breadheads please. We mostly play for the love.

We are an established band with a two and a half hour set of songs under our belt, including covers by Green Day, The Clash, Rancid etc. Also, a lot of originals that you can check out on the myspace.
We have a rehearsal room in Ashford for the time being, and we have a lot of gigs lined at the moment. We gig almost every weekend, and we're wanting to take our band a step further.

Progess is being made! We have a singer, guitarist and a keyboard player. We are rock/pop band with three members from canterbury, sandwhich and broadstairs need a bass player between the ages 13 - 17!
We meet twice a month for regular practice and recording in thanet and spend the time we are not together working on material and then bringing it in when we meet. New heavy rock/metal band have just played their first gig and need a female keyboard player for the next one in Southend in April. Current line up is 3 females (vox/guitar/bass) and 1 male. Dj/ midi controller operator wanted
We are a three piece band based in sandwhich, canterbury and broadstairs and we rehearse mostly in Ramsgate once a fortnight unless there is an upcoming gig, then we start practicing alot more.
We have a lead voalist who occasionley plays rhthym guitar, a lead guitarist and a drummer.
Rather than getting a bassist we were more interested in doing something different and having a dj/ someone who uses midi controllers and midi keyboards, bands who use this are band such as Lostprophets and Linkin Park. So we wanted a possible DJ who cud play little over dubs on a midi controller and maybe be able to play keyboard parts on a midi keyboard.

I'm a drummer from the Ashford area trying to put together a band. We've got a female singer also from Ashford and a Bassist from Canterbury and we are looking for a lead guitarist to finish the set up!
Our plan is to get everyone to learn a song or two and then get together for a rehearsal, see how we play and go from there with gigs and our own stuff.

Frontman/Vocalist, Drummer & Bass Player looking for a top-knotch Lead Guitarist to complete new line-up.
We're all older musicians. Experienced. Been the same 'unit' for 20 odd years.
This will be a relatively casual gig (some of us play in other units), no frantic rehearsal schedule or anything but there's a few gigs waiting so some preparation will be required fairly quickly.

Entry_para1:: Every Monday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm, the 'Universities at Medway Big Band' rehearses in The Medway Building (ground floor) at the University of Kent Medway campus at Chatham Dockyard (Pembroke site - ME4 4AG). We are very short of trumpet and trombone players and would also welcome additional saxophone players. We currently don't have a conga player either. You don't need to be a student to join and it is completely free! We play purely for enjoyment and we play several gigs a year, some on campus, some pub gigs and one big festival at the Canterbury campus in June. Our current age range is 18 to 62 and our ability ranges from a beginner with 6 months experience to a world class session musician.

Established indie rock band seeks frontperson
Hi, we are He Who Dares, an established indie rock band from Maidstone. We have been playing together for over 3 years and have gigged all over Kent and London, earning some excellent reviews, coming 2nd in a battle of the bands for bands in Kent, and earning record label interest.
We have recently parted ways with our frontperson on good terms, and are now looking for a replacement. We'd like someone aged between 18-28, male or female, who has a strong voice, good personality, is confident and can bring fresh ideas to practice. Playing an intrument is not necessary, but is an advantage, as is being able to write song lyrics. At the moment we have an albums worth of music written, and would allow our new frontperson to write lyrics for this music as they see fit. Being spontanious and coming up with ideas at jams is a big bonus.

Do you wanna get rocked? Experienced Rock Bassist Needed for New Pro Standard Def Leppard Tribute
This is a really exciting project with gigs and potential overseas gigs and mini tours available.
We are looking for a Bassist to replicate Rick Savage in what will be the most authentic Def Leppard tribute. Pro gear and attitude essential. We do not do this full time and all have day jobs but take the music seriously.
Saying this we are all outgoing without egos and are looking for somebody likeminded. Obviously dirty blond hair would be an advantage, however if its not there you must be prepared to wig up for the part.
We are urgent to fill this position but will not comprimise the project

Female rock singer wanted
New band (mixed male and female) formed last year from very experienced musicians seek a female rock singer for covers gigs starting in the spring/summer this year.
Opportunity to write some original music for the set too. We have plenty of contacts for festivals, bike rallies etc and will also do some pub gigs and we also have a booking for a large festival in June.
Experience and reliability essential, ability to 'rock-out' essential. Regular rehearsals to start with then occasional rehearsals when needed.
Very friendly easy going band who are doing this purely for enjoyment although gigs will be paid of course!

Here are the requirements to quallify so to say lol
DRUMMER : age range 18 - 25 , have own kit
( including sticks ) , must have a good year or
2's EXP , must have own transport or able to get to practice by bus
or train ( no cabs as they cost too much lol ) , chip-in's are reqired
( £5 per member for a 4 hour practice ) , only need to bring drum
sticks as kit is supplied unless gigging .
and i think thats about it .

Bass Player Wanted
Re- Forming band requires a new bass player to play Jazz/Funk and Grooved bassed material.
Due to work commitments we will only do a couple of gigs per month with regular rehearsals for new material etc, so commitment will be required but not over the top.
The ability to follow a chart is an advantage as well as a good ear to pick out bass parts.

Solid Bass player needed
We are a female fronted project, looking for a good solid bass player interested in playing country/country rock/Americana covers. Snakebite - Europes top touring Whitesnake Tribute need guitarist for 2010 tour dates
Snakebite have now been playing for nearly 4 years and are regarded as the top Whitesnake Tribute Act. Having been featured in Claasic Rock Magazine as well as the Daily Express and many radio mentions they have just completed the 2009 Legends of Rock Tour around the O2 acedemy venues.
We are now looking for a talented guitarist with excellent technique, backing vocals and good stage presence. Snakebite do not play lead and rhythm guitarists and so you will have skills in both areas. We do not do this band as our main source of income though we do expect a professional approach.

It is essential that you have transport to get to and from rehearsals. For gigs that are long distance travelling, the band does have the Snakebus which is a 6 seater VW LT 35 long wheelbase van that has taken us to the 4 corners of the UK and beyond these shores. It is also worth mentioning that sometimes overnight stays away from home will be expected. These are all at weekends.
This band is a lot of fun and we will welcome the new member in. However from experience we will not accept overinflated egos, the band is a team and no member can ever be bigger than the band.
