Stand-ups
from the stars of adult-only humour. Don't attend if you are easily
offended by being amongst grown ups.
We started our comedy nights in November 1990 to cheer
everyone up at the start of the recession. We are now firmly established on the
comedy circuit as being the cutting edge of Stand Up Comedy in Kent.
Many famous names have appeared here at the start of their
careers;
Jo Brand, Ardal O'Hanlon (Father Ted),
Alan Davies (Jonathan Creek), Graham Norton, Dylan Moran, Jeff Green, Alistair
McGowan, Ed Byrnes,I an Cognito, Lucy Porter, Boothby Graffoe, Adam Bloom, The
Bastard Son of Tommy Cooper, Wilty, Mark Lamarr, Charlie Chuck (Uncle Peter) Mandy
Knight and Dominic Holland to name but a
few.
A few found the set-up quite daunting as we are only a very small
pub, it was likened to Kathy Bates house in Misery, but none the less they enjoyed
the evening and the appreciation of the audience. Most came back a second or third
time. Even the Independent Newspaper gave us a mention for the comedians to be
afraid, very afraid. This we took as a compliment rather than never making the
press at all.
We don't charge on the door, which is a refreshing change in
this day and age, but rely on ou to buy a few beers. The comedy starts at 9.30pm.

Monday night
there is always Live music, a jam session or equivalent entertainment
Probably the best gig in Kent on a Monday.
You do not need
to be a follower of music and comedy to enjoy our wide selection of beers and
tasty menu.
Just travel down Tonbridge Road in Maidstone until you see the giant tree and scary stone building with metal letters on the side and you have arrived.
